There were more than 200 people from the government, enterprises, international foundry organizations and media attending this forum. Government officials attending the forum include Mr. Li Yikai, the Head of Planning Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information, the Vice President of China Machinery Industry Federation and the Standing Vice President of China Foundry Association Mr. Zhang Libo, the Executive Vice President of China Machinery Industry Federation Mr. Song Xiaogang, the Associate Counsel of Shaanxi Industry and Information Department Mr. Li Zhaoli, the chief supervisor of CFA and the National Innovation Center for the Intelligent Foundry Industry, the Chairman of KOCEL Group Mr. Peng Fan, Deputy Mayor of Hancheng City Mr. Sun Changhong and other officials from Hancheng government. The international guests came from 10 countries including Germany, Japan, Belgium, Mongolia, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, Vietnam and England. The forum was hosted by the Vice Secretary General of CFA Mr. Gao Wei.
Mr. Zhang Libo made a welcome speech on behalf of the organizers. He said that since the first Belt and Road forum held last year, China Foundry Association has carried out a series of programs from international foundry park construction, general contract, technology cooperation and business trade cooperation. With more and more enterprises participated in the Belt and Road initiative, the second session of Belt and Road Forum was being held.
“There are several highlights of this forum,” Mr. Zhang Libo said, “the international participation improves and the representatives are in high level, and it adds training program as well as match-making programs to this forum which provide access for attended enterprises to know more about the international policies, laws, standards, and also provide a platform for them to talk about the further cooperation.”
“The foundry industry capacity cooperation along ‘Belt and Road’ is not a problem of capacity transfer, what the Chinese foundry industry faces now will also be the problems that other developing countries meet in the future. ” Mr. Zhang Libo said, “In this respect, we should develop in the green and intelligent way and take the advantages of Internet + Foundry to promote the industrial park construction along Belt and Road.”
He also said, during the promotion of Belt and Road cooperation, there must be a lot of difficulties, and helping enterprises to solve these problems will be the main task of China Foundry Association.
In Mr. Li Yikai’s speech, he thought highly of the forum on behalf of the planning division of the Ministry of Industry and Information. He introduced the work that the Ministry has carried out in promoting the Belt and Road initiative. He also emphasizes that the Chinese manufacturing industry is facing great opportunities and challenges in “going out”, such as the complex global investment and changing business environment, most of Chinese enterprises are in lack of proprietary intellectual property rights and brand influence, as well as interaction and synergy.
He pointed out enterprises should grasp the opportunity and respond actively to the difficulties of “going out”. On one hand, we should revolve around the mainline of making China become a power nation of manufacturing industry from a large nation, integrating both domestic development and opening up, accelerating the introducing and absorbing the overseas technology and experiences; on the other hand, we should increase the comprehensive service guarantee ability.
One of the other highlights of this forum is there are two agreements signed, one is between China Foundry Association and Pakistan Foundry Association, which is helpful to strengthen the cooperation and communication between China and Pakistan; and the other agreement between China Foundry Association and Albert & Geiger will provide consultation services of law and regulations for foundry enterprises entering the EU.

Mr. Wang Xiaoguang, the Secretary General of Enterprise Social Responsibility Research Think-tank of China Federation of Industrial Economics, introduced the six aspects in carrying out Belt and Road initiative: the significance of sustainable development, the five-dimension model of sustainable development evaluation, sustainable development indicators system, the evaluation methods, the sustainable development evaluation of countries along Belt and Road, as well as countermeasures and suggestions.

Mr. Song Xiaogang, Vice President of China Machinery Industry Federation, said “going out” is the in the need of Chinese machinery industry to transform and upgrade in the period of Chinese economy entering a new normal, and Chinese enterprises have been equipped to “going out”. He pointed that the machinery industry should go out in the collective and synergy way in order to deal with various risks and challenges. He also encouraged the industry association to play its role.

Mr. Ding Hui, Chairman of Hancheng Foundry Industrial Park, introduced the Belt and Road programs carrying out in Shaanxi. Hancheng has played an important and effective role in response to the Belt and Road initiative, with the hundred people’s forum has been held, and the leaders’ office for promoting Belt and Road initiative has been founded which provides agent services for clearance, export subsidy and freight subsidy of the local exports, making contributions to the Belt and Road construction. Hancheng has advantages in economic location, population and transportation. In the end, he made a comprehensive introduction of the Hancheng High-end Foundry Industrial Park and invited the foundry companies to invest in Hancheng.

Ms. Fan Qi, Exec. Vice President of China Foundry Association, introduced the foundry industry’s situation of countries along Belt and Road, with casting data of 14 countries including India, Pakistan, Russia, Thailand, South Africa, the United States, Germany and Japan and comparison with China. She also introduced the work has been carried out and the services can be provided by China Foundry Association.

After the keynote reports, there were two dialogues around the topics of “Silk Road Economic Belt” and “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. In the “Silk Road Economic Belt” dialogue, the representatives exchanged views on the practice of Belt and Road programs including China-Mongolia foundry industry cooperation practice and Russian cooperation project, the media’s service and role, and discussed how to deal with the obstacles to go out. In the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” dialogue, the Pakistan representative introduced the situations of Pakistan’s foundry industry and the training school. The Turkey representative also introduced the Turkey foundry industry’s development. And the Chinese expert in Standardization Mr. Qiang Yi introduced how Standardization can play its role with the Belt and Road initiative.
On Sep. 2, the international match making program was held and it provided a face to face opportunity for attendees to talk with the Pakistan, Mongolian and Turkey experts and receive more information of industrial policies and cooperation projects.
