The 15th China International Foundry Expo (Metal China 2017), together with the biennial Die Casting Industry Exhibition (CIDC), as well as Metallurgical Industry Expo, Industrial Furnace Exhibition and Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Exhibition once again made a big success, June 13-16 at Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong, Shanghai, heart of one of China’s business and industry hubs. 1263 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions as well as 97,422 person-time visitors have come to the show.
This event is jointly organized by China Foundry Association, China Iron and Steel Association, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), Metallurgical Council of CCPIT, Industrial Furnace Institution of CMES and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. The exhibiting space reaches 90,000 square meters.
Highlights of the event:
1.CIDC develops quickly and blossom in June
More than 100 die casting enterprises, including Faw Foundry, CITIC Dicastal, German Metal Automotive Accessories, Kashui Group, Suzhou Chunxing, Yadelin, Dalian Yaming, Chongqing Dajiang Millison, Guangdong Hongtu, Guangdong Hongtai as well as famous die casting machine and peripheral equipment manufacturers including Buhler, Frech, L.K. Group, Yizumi, Suzhou Sanji, Idra, Yanhing Group, Chit Shun, Wenjie, HYDEB show their high-end and competitive products and machines at CIDC, the die casting products are applied in a variety of sectors, such as automobile, motorcycle, electronics, communications, aerospace, construction, etc..
To set examples for the die casting industry, the results of “Top 50 Die Casting Enterprises”, “Top 20 Die Manufacturers” and “Best-in-class Die Casting” appraising activities have been released and the grand award ceremony has been held during the reception dinner.
2.Foundry equipment becomes more efficient and intelligent
The Foundry sector focuses on the high-efficiency and intelligence of the foundry equipment. Both domestic and international exhibitors including ABB, ABP, Changzhou Fondarc, MAGMA, STRIKOWESTOFEN, Sinto, Inductotherm, Baoding Well, Changzhou Hidea, Hebei Ounai, LIST, Tianjin Ziheng, Wuxi Xinan, Qinhuangdao Chunguang, Zhejiang Wanfeng, Beijing Tinder, Shandong Kaitai, Suzhou Mingzhi, Suzhou Hawk, Guangdong Zosan, display their latest equipment and technology at the show. Intelligent die casting island, semi-solid die casting machine, high-efficient moulding line, energy-saving melting equipment, online inspection equipment, sand reclamation equipment and other new equipment which mark the achievements of Chinese foundry industry’s transformation and upgrading catch visitors’ eyes during the show.
3.Digital foundry is accelerating its steps
MAGMA, Anycasting and Huazhong University of Science and Technology will show the latest digital and simulation technology in the foundry industry.
The Advanced Manufacture Technology Center of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology, Beijing TenYoun 3D Technology Co., Ltd show the advanced 3D printing and rapid prototyping technologies. Furthermore, the exhibitors also demonstrate how to print various complex sand cores and samples with unbelievable speed on the show place.
Digital simulation technology, rapid prototyping technology, robot and bid data are four magic weapons for the digitalized workshop, which you can have a close look to them at the show. KUKA, ABB, Grenzebach, Reis Robotics, Fanuc Robotics, Zhejiang Wanfeng, Logen Robotics and Wolong SIR Robot bring their advanced products to the show: handling robot, grinding robot, feeding robot, extractor, cleaning machine, etc.. Visitors are excited at the precision of digital simulation technology and the unbelievable speed of 3D printing. China National Intelligent Foundry Center displayed itself to all visitors. The big data service-based Foundry E-Commerce (Beijing) Network Co., Ltd. opened the era of “IT+foundry”.
4.Environmental and safety are hot topics
In recent years, environmental protection and safety has become hot topics for the foundry industry. To increase environmental and safety awareness of foundry enterprises and help enterprises to avoid detours in the facilities upgrading, a special area was set up in hall W5 and allow visitors to know more about the dust handling system, explosion protection system, noise reduction system, waste water treatment system, etc..
5.Various supporting programs
During the show period, a variety of supporting programs have been staged, including the 13th China Foundry Association Annual Congress, casting sourcing fairs in sectors of automobile or communications, a series of technical forums, new product release conferences and awarding programs for high-quality castings and die castings, etc.. These activities in various forms and dimensions can meet the different requirements of exhibitors and visitors, which also provide them with various and impressing visiting experiences.

With the growing trend of scale and influence, Metal China and CIDC have become the “must attend” event for the foundry industry.
